7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (Apr 16)
2. Miz Moves. Dean's Still Not Funny.
WWE initially teased fans with John Cena jumping over to Raw, like he did years ago during the draft. However, it was just a gag, as The Miz and Maryse did their fourth crack at dressing up as Cena and Nikki.
Then "Wacky Man" Dean Ambrose jumped over too, and we got to relieve a feud that already went down months ago on SmackDown. It was not a strong start to the shakeup. Ambrose can turn heel and that would be great, but Miz is unlikely to rise up to the top of the card on Raw. If that was the plan, he likely wouldn't have jobbed to Sami Zayn.
Miz now has to compete with Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Samoa Joe, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon as the top villain on the roster. Maybe he'll surpass Joe, but he seems destined to be in fourth place. On SmackDown, he felt more likely to keep on moving up the card. With Cena taking some time off, he possibly could have even found his way into the world title scene and captured some gold, thereby setting up another round with Cena. Plus, they’re taking away Miz's angle with Daniel Bryan, which is what helped him get re-noticed in the first place!
While there were certainly worse moves in the draft (Byron Saxton for David Otunga is like trading a three-day-old sandwich for a half-eaten box of crackers), perhaps none felt as unnecessary as moving The Miz over to the land of three hour shows.
