7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (Apr 23)

4. This Week In Potential Dream Matches

Samoa Joe Chris Jericho

Imagine a few years ago that Chris Jericho and Samoa Joe were going to battle it out on Raw. That would have sounded freaking amazing! So far it's played out twice, and it didn't matter either time. Jericho vs. Joe should have been saved for pay-per-view in a "never thought you'd see it happen" kind of match. But the Mar. 6 episode of Raw gave us those two in a four-minute bout, and this past week they kicked off the show with zero build behind it. A potential big showdown just thrown away, like Kalisto in a trash can.

SmackDown got in on the action too, though on a smaller level. If you look at the women's roster on the show, the absolute biggest match they can book right now is Naomi vs. Charlotte. They wasted literally no time in booking the two against each other, and now, we have to pay to see it again.

WWE has a strange way of booking things that should easily be exciting and making it feel so pedestrian. Besides those two matches, Jeff Hardy fought Cesaro on Raw, and the crowd reacted as if it was Apollo Crews fighting Dolph Ziggler. It was another first time ever match we never thought we'd see, and yet, no one will remember it by the following Monday.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
