7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (Apr 23)
3. Shut Your Yap Bray!
On SmackDown, Bray Wyatt promised that Randy Orton won’t be walking out of the House of Horrors Happy Fun Time match, but you know what? I’m pretty damn sure he will. And that’s the problem with the Wyatt character, he talks a big game, but never, ever backs it up. He’s based on horror villains, but if you watch any slasher flick, at least those guys go “over” on a few teenagers before being defeated in the end. Wyatt always loses his feuds (except maybe Ryback), and his opponents are no worse for wear.
I’m just done with this character. I’m done with the dumb, spooky music with cheap sound effects. I'm done with maggots, casual corpse burnings, and supernatural powers that consist of an image being projected. He started as an enthralling cult leader from the swamps and has somehow turned into Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street Part 5: The Dream Child. Not the original where Freddy was actually scary and interesting, but the Freddy who always got the crap kicked out of him and was more of a joke than anything.
It's like creative is in too deep now, and keep trying to think bigger. On Raw, they threw in 200 stock video images during Bray's promo just so they can hit us over the head with THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE SPOOKY.
Back in the day, at least Undertaker beat the hell out of some jobbers then put him in a body bag. He also locked Ultimate Warrior in a room and nearly killed him. Those were things that had lasting impacts on his opponents. Bray just talks. And talks. And talks. And talks. It would be nice if he stopped for a bit.
