2. Jinder Wins

I feel I missed about 20 weeks worth of WWE television. You know, with matches where Jinder "The Human Vein" Mahal actually won and wasn’t treated as the least effective member on the roster. It’s like WWE wrote a book but jumped from chapter 2 to 12.

I would have no problem with Jinder becoming No. 1 contender if they had actually built him up as a credible challenger in any way. It’s not that hard of a thing to do either, just don’t have the guy lose literally every single match he’s in. Last week I reminisced on Muhammad Hassan jumping over from Raw to SmackDown years ago and having to job on the way out, but this is exactly how it played out again!

Hassan lost to Cena on his way out the door, then he won a title shot within his first few weeks on SmackDown. Likewise, Mahal just lost to Finn Balor in convincing fashion on Raw, and then found himself in a title match in his new home. However, the major difference is that Hassan had actually beat people before that!

This doesn't seem to send a message that Mahal it suddenly a major player. It sends the message that SmackDown is the inferior brand because a guy who couldn't buy a win on Raw is suddenly a top star on the blue brand.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
