7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (July 9)

4. Impact: Where Nothing Matters

Bruce Prichard
Title Match Wrestling

At Slammiversary, Bruce Prichard suddenly went missing. It seemed Something to Wrestle With was done for. They aired a segment on the pay-per-view with Dutch Mantell and Karen Jarrett panicking over where he was. What was Chapter 2 of the story? Bruce opened up Impact yelling at the announce team. So while Claire Lynch dragged on for months, "Where's Bruce?" was settled off-air between late Sunday night and Thursday.

Impact's randomness raged on as Trevor Lee suddenly found himself in the X Division title picture. A great move, but it makes little sense from what we've seen on TV. He just jobbed to Braxton Sutter cleanly in two minutes during the India tapings. We were shown he's essentially a jobber. But in Mahal-like fashion, he's now good. Just accept it. Don't think about it. And Sutter? He jobbed to Matt Sydal clean in four minutes. Also, just accept he's no longer good and that he wants to break up with Allie for no discernible reason.

Then there was the opening segment of Impact this past week. Alberto El Patron wildly put over Bobby Lashley to open the show and said he would respect him every day of his life. A couple minutes later, Lashley came out, wanted a rematch, and El Patron lost his s**t and threw champagne at him.

While Impact has at least some entertaining moments these days, good luck trying to make sense out of any of it on a week-to-week basis...or maybe even a segment-to-segment basis.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
