Dean Ambrose sure is a sneaky one. He also goes to a lot of effort for his surprise attacks. Is this because his character is a lunatic? Or is he trying way too hard to be cute?

In order to pull off his attack this past week, Dean would have had to have spent a lot of his free time ignoring his wife and plotting his revenge. For starters, he bought a second bear costume. He also convinced an innocent person to put it on and take a beating. He also needed to talk to the production team to find music for the bear and graphics they could put on the side of the ring. The man really is a lunatic if he thought all of that was going to be funny.

Sometimes goofiness in WWE lore can work out okay. Yurple the Clown was fine for a couple appearances spread out over months but the company knew when to leave well enough alone. That doesn't seem to be the case in play here with the bear. It's a bit surprising as Vince McMahon was self-aware enough to know the most recent rendition of "This is Your Life" was one of the worst segments in recent memory but then...that bear.

WWE is likely never going back to the Attitude Era. But there has to be some sort of middle ground they can find in-between a man in a bear costume and someone being nearly embalmed. Let's hope they find it before the ratings continue to tank.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
