3. Strowman Loses

Strowman Reigns II

Oh hey, here’s another good thing that ended and shouldn’t have!

At this point, we’re heading into our third WrestleMania in a row where Roman Reigns is the top face in the company, and the vast majority of the fans either don’t give a damn, or hate that fact.

What’s so frustrating about Fastlane is there was such an easy way out of their semi-main event, which would have made WrestleMania more interesting and been better for both competitors. At some point in Roman vs. Strowman, we hear a gong, the lights go out, Roman gets distracted and then loses. Strowman keeps looking strong and Superman Punch Man is out for revenge on The Undertaker. But dammit, WWE had to have Roman win again, despite it being the much worse story! Then the next night on Raw they had Strowman look weak once more by walking away from a fight.

Go back to WrestleMania 3 when Andre was “finally” toppled by Hulk Hogan. Fans wanted that. It meant something seeing the legend pinned in the ring cleanly. Austin beating Taker did wonders for his career. Goldberg vanquishing Brock got a huge pop as well. But Strowman being fed to Vince’s pet project was another complete waste of time and energy.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
