7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (March 26)

3. Josh Vs. Karen

Josh Matthews And Karen Jarrett
Impact Wrestling

Impact has a bad history of hyping pronouns. In 2010, Abyss continually threatened “They” were coming to take over the company. “They” ended up being Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Jeff Hardy and half the roster in one of the worst stables ever. Recently “She” was going to come to Impact and lay down the law. The woman they chose was about the least exciting option outside of Lacey Von Erich.

Karen Jarrett returned to Impact to the sound of thunderous applause. Is this how liberty dies? All right no more Phantom Menace references for the rest of this article. Actually no, the ending of Impact was worse than Menace, because the only fictional character worse than Jar Jar Binks is Josh Matthews.

Last week the big hook at the end of Impact was LAX returning, which is a good thing. This past week it was "How will Matthews react to being slapped in the face by Karen?" Not good. Not good...AT ALL. There is no reason I can recall as to why he hates the Jarrett family, so that is a bit of a storytelling issue. Also, Karen isn't an act that most fans are fond of. When "make Impact great" became a thing (an annoying one), fans thought of wrestlers like Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Awesome Kong and Christopher Daniels, not Karen Jarrett!

I've got a bad feeling about this.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
