7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (May 14)
4. Dean The GM
Man, Kurt Angle is bad at his job. He lost one of his three "I's" in integrity when he didn’t bother to book a show that he knew he wasn’t going to be at. Then literally at the last second, he decided to let Dean Ambrose do all of the work. You have to wonder how Raw was going to start if Dean hadn't picked up his phone, or really, what they were going to do if he wasn't five feet from the stage when he answered. It would have been a lot of nothing. Nothing may have been preferable.
Actually, Dean hosting Raw was surprisingly tame. He didn't do any hot dog cart matches, or balloon animals on a pole gimmicks or any such nonsense, which then makes you wonder why they bothered with him as GM for the night anyway. But also, why the hell would Kurt give him the show? There's like a dozen people in the Gorilla position who could have run things and they have actual management experience. Billy Kidman deserved that opportunity!
More troubling, though, is that this appears to be the official start of Stephanie McMahon vs. Kurt Angle. She picked Miz to counter Dean, so IT HAS BEGUN. That didn't play out so well the first time when she emasculated Mick Foley, and the same problem persists now. Kurt and Steph aren't going to wrestle. He's not going to toss her through some glass like he did to her brother. It's just going to make him look bad. Let's hope they steer away from dueling authority figures, but it all feels so inevitable.
