3. Joe And Seth

Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins isn't exactly "bad." There have been much worse things in wrestling. But it's so far from "good" that it deserves a miss.

There’s some sort of weird disconnect going on with Seth right now. Nothing he does feels the least bit genuine. He’s long been hammered with bad dialogue, but the dude doesn’t know how to deliver a realistic promo or backstage brawl. After attacking Joe, he went for a conveniently placed mini-ladder to hurt Joe’s hands. Then he jumped into the freaking air and landed on a rolling card to throw some more punches. What?

If you’re ever in a real fight, don’t jump on the nearest object for leverage. It isn’t going to work. I know from personal experience from the great playground beating of 2003. I also know that jumping off the turnbuckle wouldn’t work well in reality, but backstage brawls have a different logic to them (which is why people don’t actually fall down...because concrete doesn’t feel good). Still, c'mon Seth.

Then there was the actual match itself. The rematch from the last pay-per-view featured two guys who should be great but aren’t clicking in the ring. They went 15 minutes, and the usual incredibly hot UK crowd wasn't feeling any of it.

Again, they weren't into very much of the entire show. It seems that's becoming a major problem around the globe...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
