7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (May 28)

3. Bruce's Backup

Bruce Prichard EC III
Impact Wrestling

A lot of people love Something to Wrestle With. It’s one of the most popular wrestling podcasts out there. Fans like to listen to Bruce Prichard share stories of old and perform delightful impressions. However, in his second run in the company, Impact still can’t figure out what the hell to do with the guy, which makes him feel like an unnecessary addition to the show.

In his last run, he was a judge on Gut Check and talked down to wrestlers trying to break into the business. Now he’s talking down to regular roster members. EC III finally snapped last week and threw him face first to the mat, which seems to have broken all of Bruce’s ribs, judging by the way he walked to the ring.

So good guy Bruce said there will be an investigation on Carter...even though he himself was the one who was attacked by him, so it seems like a pretty open-and-shut case. To be safe, though, he aligned himself with bad guy Tyrus for protection, which also makes no sense. Is Bruce going to turn heel to screw over recently turned heel EC III? It doesn’t seem like there’s a good way out of this angle.

Impact has seen quite a few improvements in this latest era, but they frustratingly continue to make things way more complicated than need be.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
