7 Worst WWE Drafts In History
3. 2008 WWE Draft
Further cementing the death of ECW, this draft once again sought to ignore the slowly dying experiment. Receiving only 5 of the 28 draft picks, it was once again left out in the cold.
Not only that but the ECW championship left the brand with Kane moving to Raw, making the biggest title on the brand the United States Championship by picking up Matt Hardy. It was a bit of a death blow to the already low value of the belt by this time, but somehow they managed to overshadow that surprise with an even worse decision.
Moving Jim Ross from Raw to SmackDown, even Ross himself maintains he couldn't believe what he had heard. He was unaware of his move between shows prior to the event, and this nearly led to him quitting entirely.
It was extremely disrespectful to one of (if not THE) greatest commentators of all time, and aside from that, a loyal employee of around fifteen years at the time. It overshadowed all other storylines in the draft and is just as head scratching now as it was then.
