7 Wrestlers Whose Stock Dropped The Most In 2019

5. Aleister Black

Around this time last year, Aleister Black was a rising star who was set to headline NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, where he challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the promotion's most prestigious title.

Equipped with a solid move set, one of the best signature poses in the game, and an amazing entrance, Black became one of NXT's biggest draws. 'The Dutch Destroyer' appeared destined for a big run as a member of the main roster.

The former NXT champ was called up last February and spent the early portion of his run as part of a tag-team with Ricochet. The two challenged for the tag titles and were featured in some prominent matches. It wasn't a debut run for the ages but things certainly could have been worse. However, the duo split when Black was eventually drafted to SmackDown.

Unfortunately, to this point, the Dutchman's SmackDown run has been lackluster at best. Prior to his recent injury, Black was cutting awkward promos from a dark room and goading would-be challengers. The segments came across as a desperate idea from a creative team that didn't really know what to do with the character.

Hopefully, WWE will have something to help him back on track now that he's returned. If not, sadly, we may see Aleister Black chasing R-Truth (or whoever the 24/7 champ is) backstage in 2020.
