7 Wrestlers WWE Released Who Deserve Another Run

4. Damien Sandow

Few could imagine that Sandow would go over as Miz's stunt double, Damien Mizdow. But he earned huge pops shadowing The Miz's moves at ringside, and the "We want Mizdow" chants started to be heard loud and clear. His popularity eventually earned him a high-profile feud with his former boss.

After his program ended with The Miz though, WWE creative didn't quite know what to do with Sandow. This led to an ill-thought out series of wrestler impersonations, which killed any Mizdow momentum dead. The beginning of the end for him was when he started his "Macho Mandow" Randy Savage gimmick, and he was placed in a tag team with Curtis "Axelmania" Axel. This short-lived Mega Powers tribute act was embarrassing, with the only good thing about them being their name: the Meta Powers.

There's still a place in the hearts of wrestling fans for Sandow though. After two runs in the WWE, he might seem like the perennial choker of the company but with a third run, this could be utilised playing up his failures and turning him into a Daniel Bryan style underdog. Perhaps there's still one more lesson to be learned from the "Intellectual Saviour of the Masses".
