7 Wrestlers WWE Unsuccessfully Tried To Sign In 2015
6. Ricochet (Prince Puma)
It could be argued that Ricochet, aka Lucha Underground's Prince Puma, is the best American wrestler not working for WWE right now. He is one of the most athletic wrestlers in the business and has had so many great matches all over the world. When he's not working for Lucha Underground, he's either grafting on the indies or competing for New Japan Pro Wrestling teaming with Matt Sydal (former Evan Bourne) as one of the most entertaining tag teams in the business. Much like the previously mentioned Angelico, it was reported in the Wrestling Observer last month that WWE had an interest in bringing in Ricochet. However, Ricochet is also locked into a seven year deal with Lucha Underground. Unless that company folds, he like won't be able to go to WWE. I think that if WWE really wanted somebody then they could throw enough money at LU to let them out of the contract, but for now it may be difficult. What's weird about WWE having interest is they invited him to a tryout camp in the spring of 2014 and he apparently did a great job. However, the reports in the Wrestling Observer at the time noted WWE felt like they already had enough high-flyers, so they passed on him. I think that's a huge mistake because he's a special talent that would have gotten over huge in NXT. Perhaps WWE realizes their mistake now because they have interest in him again, but it's not going to happen this year, unfortunately.
