7 WWE Careers That Are At A Dead End

2. Jack Swagger

When fans think about the most underwhelming WWE/World Champions of the past decade, the name Jack Swagger usually comes to mind first. It was weird when WWE had him win a Money in the Bank contract in 2010 and then cash in to become the World Champion. Jack Swagger? Really? It didn't seem right. His World Title reign was booked terribly with few impressive wins and he lost the World Title to Rey Mysterio within three months. A character reset is something that has been previously mentioned in this article. That's what they did with him last year. He won the Elimination Chamber match in 2013 to get a World Title shot against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29. It wasn't a good feud particularly because Del Rio failed as a face while Swagger lacked believability as a top contender. We were too used to him as a midcard act to buy him as a potential World Champion. At least WWE tried with him. Giving him Zeb Colter has helped Swagger because Colter's an intriguing manager. They might need to add one or two people to the Real Americans group because then Swagger could become a tag team specialist since his career as a singles wrestler isn't likely to improve much. Swagger is likely locked into his spot for the rest of his career whether he likes it or not. It's not a bad way to earn a living, but it's also a case of a guy being stuck in the dead end that he's in. He's still likely pulling in six figures per year and he married a model, so in the end I doubt he's complaining about it too much.
