7 WWE Feuds That Killed Careers

3. Scott Steiner Vs. Triple H (2003)

Scott Steiner was ill-prepared for a top-line feud opposite Triple H in 2003, but he's hardly the only one who deserves blame.

'The Game' himself was working a slower ring style at the time and had struggled to keep up with dynamic workers like Rob Van Dam the previous year. In that sense then, booking Steiner, who had several niggling injuries, as Triple H's main opponent at both Royal Rumble and No Way Out 2003 was a mistake.

The results were disastrous for Steiner and seemed to change WWE's mind about making him a full-time headliner in the company.

As bad as a match between the pair was at the Rumble, No Way Out somehow topped it and made things worse. After that, Scott was kept off WrestleMania XIX and demoted to the under-card for a lengthy feud against Test. He'd be gone from the promotion by 2004, meaning his solitary singles run in WWE was a complete failure.
