7 WWE Gimmicks That Totally Personify Vince McMahon

6. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

During another chat with Playboy (surely one most wrestling fans have either heard about or read snippets from by now), Vinnie Mac revealed himself as quite the rebel in other ways. As much as he disliked "other kids" and how judgemental they were, he detested authority even more.

He was a real-life, toned-down version of 'Stone Cold'.

In 1998-99, McMahon played the dogmatic authoritarian he'd once hated, and he played the role to an absolute tee. That allowed Steve Austin to gleefully go about his work as a suit-spoiling renegade who'd act like the living embodiment of Pantera's 'Cowboys From Hell' song. He was there to take over and undermine Vince wherever possible.

Austin has spoken himself about how much fun he and McMahon would have coming up with the character's next capers. He'd often see a childlike glint in Vince's eye when writing skits, almost like he longed to be 'Stone Cold' himself and stick a middle finger up at the system.
