7 WWE Gimmicks That Totally Personify Vince McMahon

4. 'Leader Of Hulkamania' Hulk Hogan

Back at the height of the Golden Era, the WWF had one golden rule: "Hogan must pose".

The holier-than-thou Hulk Hogan and his 'Hulkamania' movement is classic WWE lore now. He'd encourage kids to say their prayers, and he'd always do the right thing. Always. Always. Always!? OK, so he wouldn't always do the right thing. Nah, Hogan was as much of a spoiled brat as any other superstar when things didn't go his way.

Despite talking about himself as some sort of great role model for the masses, Hulk would bash heels with steel chairs from behind, rake their eyes to gain an advantage, pull them out of the Royal Rumble (even when he'd been eliminated fairly) and then rub it in their faces with musclebound poses afterwards. He was a bastard deep down.

In interviews, Vince has often painted himself as a beacon of hope for the industry. He knows better than anybody else what needs to be done, and he'll do it even if it means bending the rules he preaches about. McMahon isn't above playing dirty if it suits his own ends or beats the competition, but he'll typically put on a Cheshire Cat smile publicly.
