7 WWE Stars Fired Because Of The Internet

4. Abraham Washington

Abraham Washington was fired because of the internet - if you believe the words of the man himself, that is. It is largely accepted that the short-lived manager of the Prime Time Players was let go for his remark on a 2012 episode of Raw. Washington's gimmick revolved around him cutting mid-match promos in support of the then-heel Players, and an ill-advised rape quip landed him firmly in the doghouse. In possession of a live microphone, Washington proclaimed "Titus O'Neal is like Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado - he's unstoppable", an uncomfortable allusion to the NBA star's 2003 sexual assault case. However, Washington later claimed that his release was directly a result of a tweet made in support of Linda McMahon's political campaign. The rather heavy-handed post read "#AWPromotion$ says vote for Linda McMahon!!! The PTP'z support Linda and so should you! #voteordie4Linda". According to Washington, he was told in no uncertain terms that Linda's political career was to be kept entirely separate from her past associations with the WWE, and was fired as a result of the faux pas.
