The Straight Edge Society that CM Punk formed on Smackdown in 2010 was a group of people that Punk "saved" after he stopped them from drinking and/or using drugs. He had Luke Gallows, the former Festus, who they said was loaded up on drugs as a way to make him act weird like Festus. Then they brought in Serena, who pledged to never drink again by having her head shaved. It was one of the most unique things ever as this hot woman rocked a bald look simply because she believed in CM Punk's way of living. They also added Joey Mercury to the group later. In July of 2010, WWE did an angle where Serena had a slip up. She drank alcohol again without Punk knowing about it. He found out, was furious and started to question if she was really loyal to the cause. Then they aired a scene from Serena in a bar on May 31, 2010 where she was shown drinking with a guy (it was wrestler Adam Cole, by the way) until Punk showed up to stop her. She apologized to Punk in the ring, he forgave her and the group was doing fine until WWE dropped the angle a few months later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBPNYr52BEU Serena was fired before she could ever really make a mark in WWE. Part of the reason given was that she was apparently drunk in public while she was portraying this character, which upset WWE officials. That's a pretty stupid reason to fire somebody. It's not like The Undertaker works at a funeral home. Obviously there are different rules for different people, but it's still a bad reason to give up on a talented woman like her. They used alcohol as a driving force in the SES story, especially with Serena.
