7 WWE Superstars Who Were Probably Alcoholics

2. The Sandman

The Sandman is known in the wrestling business as a fighting drunk that always drank a beer before, during and after a math while also using a singapore cane as a weapon. He was also a man of the people. Sandman made his entrance for his matches by entering through the crowd. He was at his most extreme in ECW of course. They had him with the beer in one hand, he usually had a cigarette, the cane was with him and a lot of the times he had a hot female manager too. When WWE brought him in they did give him a lot of the same things to help his character, but it was never the same. Steve Austin's character in WWE borrowed a lot of things from Sandman although Austin was a much better in-ring performer and promo guy. In the case of Sandman, he really was limited in a lot of the things he did although he was popularity because he was able to deliver and take a beating as well as anybody. The fans definitely admired him for that. There is no better example of an alcohol fueled fighting machine than Sandman. His WWE career lasted a little over a year, but his impact on ECW and the fans that loved him will last forever. Best way to describe him is as a cult hero.
