7 WWE Superstars With Crazy Workout Routines

2. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle Skipping Rope He may not be with the company anymore, but back in the day Kurt Angle€™s training was nothing short of beastly. In an episode of Stone Cold Steve Austin€™s podcast, the Steve Austin Show, Angle divulges the secrets of his €œexhaustion training€ that he carried out during the earlier days of his career. The approach was focused purely on endurance, and is named as such because Angle would work out until he was completely exhausted, and then begin training for real. It sounds like it borders on suicidal, but the logic behind it makes sense. If Angle could perform well exhausted, who would be able to match him when he was running on a full tank? The Olympian explains that he never took a day off, other than one-half day each month. His mornings consisted of a two and a half hour workout before lunch (involving a six miles run and 40 200 yard hills sprints), three hours of working on wrestling technique after lunch and then an evening of heavy weight training, plyometrics and further sprint work. With a schedule like that, you can see how he managed to win gold at the 1996 Olympics Games with a broken freakin' neck! And on a less positive note, it also does much to explain why his body is as banged up as it is today. He may not train with the intensity that he once did, but nevertheless this Angle€™s exhaustion training remains one of craziest workouts in all of wrestling.
