7 WWE Women's Feuds That Should Have Been Better
5. Nikki Bella Vs. Charlotte
Nikki Bella beating AJ Lee's record for longest reigning Divas Champion was a dynamite topic among fans. Many believe it was undeserved and Nikki was simply being handed this accomplishment. WWE wanted to erase AJ from the history books due to her marriage to CM Punk, and Nikki, real-life girlfriend of John Cena, was chosen for this.
A lack of title defenses solidified the fans' opinions. Charlotte eventually beat Nikki for the butterfly belt, after a particularly screwy finish on Raw where Nikki almost lost her title before beating the record. Charlotte winning gold at Night of Champions should have felt more historic, but the title picture was just too crowded. The former NXT Women's Champion and daughter of Hall of Famer Ric Flair should have been riding a tidal wave of momentum as the gutsy babyface ready to dethrone Bella. Nikki could have been booked as a heel with the might of the Authority behind her, the female equivalent of Seth Rollins.
With Charlotte now on the SmackDown roster, this could be a feud that WWE revisits. Charlotte excels in her role as a heel and Nikki has proven herself as a babyface after recovering from career-threatening neck surgery. With the Money in the Bank ladder match approaching, WWE would be wise to incorporate Nikki and Charlotte into the title picture. Charlotte was the one to finally beat Bella, after all. Nikki's revenge story could be a perfect feud for the blossoming SmackDown women's division.
