7 WWE Wrestlers Who Deserved Better At WrestleMania 33
3. Sami Zayn
You could be forgiven for not realising, but in theory Sami Zayn is the number three active babyface on the RAW roster. Roman Reigns is still nominally number one but when it comes to full-time and uninjured performers only Chris Jericho is above 'The Underdog from the Underground' in the pecking order. When Finn Bálor and Seth Rollins return that will change, but for the first three months of 2017 Zayn has been one of the top good guys on the flagship show.
Despite this Zayn finds himself left with nothing to do at WrestleMania 33. He will almost certainly be thrown into the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and it won't be a huge surprise if Zayn makes it to the final two only to be thrown over the top by the man many predict to the win the match, Braun Strowman.
That is Zayn's role for now. He is the plucky underdog who picks fights he has no chance of winning and subsequently gets destroyed to the point where has has to do that vacant stare thing whilst clawing at his opponent's leg. It is a useful role but one that is surely beneath a performer of Zayn's calibre right now.
Six months ago Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens at Battleground in a match that was billed as the final meeting between the two. How much more emotional would that bout have been if it was held here, at WrestleMania 33?
Owens has a great spot at the show but the man who won the 'final' showdown (and has lost the four TV singles matches since) is currently left twiddling his thumbs
