7. He Kicks Out Nearly The Same Way Each Time

What's that old saying, 'familiarity breeds contempt'? John Cena is a powerful guy, there's no disputing that, but he seems a little too committed to appearing strong sometimes, and his matches suffer for it, especially when it concerns his kickouts. John Cena has two basic ways of kicking out of a pinfall. The first is when he kicks out with his entire body, flipping onto his front, out from under his opponent. The second is his hand shooting straight upwards towards the ceiling like it's being pulled there by a giant magnet. Both of these look cool in isolation, but the problem is that Cena relies on them for practically every instance. Suiting the kick out to the specific situation, rather than have a signature one you pull out every time, is far, FAR better at suspending the audience's disbelief and creating tension. Not only does John Cena kicking out with full force each and every time undermine his opponent's credibility or finishing move, but it also creates a weird dissonance for the audience. It reminds them that this is all fake, because look, there's John Cena doing his catchphrase kickout.
