When The Undertaker finally decided it was time to come after Brock Lesnar in 2015, some fans were rightfully tentative. Their match at WrestleMania XXX, where Lesnar defeated The Streak, wasn’t good and many questioned whether ‘Taker would be able to survive against someone as physical as Lesnar. WWE set out to silence the critics in the weeks building up to the contest. The gigantic brawl that required the entire roster to separate the two powerhouses was successful in hyping up just how important this match was. With revenge on his mind, it seemed nothing was going to stop The Undertaker.

As soon as Lesnar jumped ‘Taker before he could take his jacket off, fans knew they were in for a war. Busted open in the early minutes, he made it clear he wasn’t going to roll over for The Deadman. As the war raged on and on, both men hit each other with every move in their arsenal, with neither being able to keep the other down. The violence mixed with memorable moments, such as Lesnar laughing at The Undertaker, only for The Phenom to sit up and laugh right back.

However, like Lesnar vs. Cena II, fans were left with a sour taste in their mouths by the end of the match. The false finish that was meant to leave fans thinking “what just happened?” left most fans thinking “what the hell was that?” Soon after the re-start of the match, The Undertaker went low on The Beast, and locked in Hell’s Gate. Lesnar vs. Undertaker II was a match 16 months in the making and both guys brought their A-game on the night. The only person that didn’t look good coming out of this was the referee, Charles Robinson.
