8 Big Questions About HUGE NBC Peacock/WWE Network Deal

3. ...And Original Programming?

Vince McMahon
WWE

In an update on their corporate page, WWE offered the following as relates to the existing original programming package:

- Groundbreaking documentaries, including WWE 24, WWE Untold, and WWE 365;
- And, starting in 2022, one signature documentary annually.

The implication here is that nothing will change from how it is now, but can that possibly be the case? Will WWE feel as moved to put so much work (or at least pay people to put in all that work) now that their funds are already assured? Of course Peacock will want to see significant return for their investment, but it'll be tough to see just how much impact AJ Styles' Atari Jaguar purchases will have on potential subscribers when NBCU already offers such a diverse range of entertainment.

The quality will hopefully remain - 24, 365, Chronicle et al really are sublime profile pieces long absent from main roster television - but just how much will the quantity decrease unless their new paymasters start turning the screw?
