3. Does Ziggler Need The IC Title?
The Intercontinental Championship ladder match between Dolph Ziggler and champ Luke Harper could be the show-stealer at TLC. It also could answer a really important question: Does Dolph Ziggler need the Intercontinental Championship, or has he moved beyond it? No one would suggest that John Cena or Randy Orton need the IC title to be considered a big deal in WWE. The belt doesnt help elevate them as a champion because they are perceived as always being in the hunt for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. While Ziggler isnt really on that level, he could be reaching the point where holding the Intercontinental Championship isnt really helping him much. He got a chance to shine in the main event of Survivor Series last month, single-handedly eliminating most of Team Authority. Its a tough question. On the one hand, losing the match could hurt Ziggler, but Harper would benefit from the win. A loss also could be beneficial if it moves Ziggler to another high-profile feuds. On the other hand, Ziggler could still be booked strongly as IC champ (remember when WWE used to book their secondary champs strongly?) and build the title up as he progresses. Either way, it will be interesting to see how things turn out.
