8 Big Questions That Need Answering At WWE TLC 2014

2. Is Cena/Lesnar IV Off?

This would sound inconceivable a month ago, but it might make sense now. John Cena has been put into a tables match against Seth Rollins, where Cena€™s number one contendership for Brock Lesnar€™s WWE World Heavyweight Championship is on the line. Cena has lost a similar tables match before, at the first TLC PPV in 2009 to Sheamus, losing his world title. So there is a precedent here. From a storyline perspective, the number one contendership being put up raises the stakes for the match just a little, giving Cena one more obstacle to overcome. However, it also raises the question of whether WWE thinks that a fourth bout between Cena and Lesnar (their third in five months if it were to take place at Royal Rumble) is too much. All signs still point to Lesnar squaring off against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XXXI, which would indicate that Cena would lose. Unless that loss sets up Cena€™s Mania match (which would be virtually identical to how Cena/Wyatt came about at the Rumble this year), then it€™s kind of pointless. And maybe WWE brass has recognized that and is getting him out of the hunt via a broken table. He could enter the Rumble to regain his title shot, get eliminated by Rusev and start that rumored Mania feud. Or maybe Cena will rise above tables and head to the Royal Rumble to face Brock Lesnar yet again.
