With the Royal Rumble and by extension, the road to WrestleMania just around the corner, TLC might not only put a lid on 2014, but also open the door to 2015. One way to accomplish that is through a surprise or two that carry over to the next PPV. Perhaps Randy Orton returns to cost Seth Rollins his match against John Cena. Or maybe he attacks the winner and declares that he should be the number one contender. Roman Reigns has finally returned to Raw in an in-arena capacity, so maybe hell show up at TLC and make his presence felt. If Reigns is indeed the favorite to win the Rumble, he needs to make an impact soon so his victory doesnt feel as out-of-the-blue as Batistas did this year. And while on that subject, perhaps the Animal could finally return from his Hollywood hiatus. Then there is the matter of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. It is beyond improbable that WWE wont waste one of his limited appearances unannounced on a throwaway pay-per-view. But if WWE wanted to show that these events are must-see affairs, what better way to do it? The real surprise we could get Sunday is if there simply are no surprises, if its just business as usual and all of these questions remain unanswered. On one hand, WWE needs to follow a Hippocratic Oath and do no harm as it exits 2014, but they also should be looking for any way to boost business now and set things up heading into 2015. Heres hoping WWE can end the year on a high note.
