8 Biggest FUMBLES In WWE History
7. The Invasion
The Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW are so ingrained in wrestling history that they are still being discussed today. Discussions of who would win matches such as Goldberg vs 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and D-Generation X vs NWO were part of wrestling culture that has followed us from the playground to middle age.
The day that Vince McMahon bought WCW and these scenarios were all suddenly possible, nobody could have foreseen the ramshackle, ludicrousness that was coming our way. After refusing to pay for the company's biggest stars and making every fan's dream come true, what unfolded might be the single biggest waste of opportunity in the history of pro wrestling.
What should have been a battle between wrestling companies for the ages, played out as a feud between Vince McMahon and his children as we all looked on aghast. ECW was swallowed into this insufferable mess to become 'The Alliance', and most of that "alliance" was then filled with WWE superstars anyway. All of this was done so Vinny Mac could essentially remind the world that he won the Monday Night Wars, while the viewing public watched on in horror.
