8 Biggest Problems Facing NXT Right Now

6. Dealing With Main Roster Jealousy

On numerous occasions last year, there were rumours of jealousy and bitterness emanating from the main roster in the direction of NXT. As the yellow brand gathered pace and momentum, many at the top of the table started to grumble, and the resentment filtered out.

It is entirely understandable. Look at the two big events from this past weekend; if you take the pay and grandeur out of it, TakeOver: Dallas seemed like a much more enjoyable show to work than WrestleMania. Give Dolph Ziggler the choice between being a bit-part player in a ladder spot fest or a 15+ showcase against Shinsuke Nakamura, which is he taking?

It is clear that in NXT a lot of the restraints forced upon WWE talent are loosened. Movesets are expanded, the stories make more sense and the talent is treated with immense respect. Why wouldn't one prefer this working environment?

As such, how NXT deals with the grumbles coming its way from the main roster is very important. The whole point of the show is to prepare people for the big time after all, and creating a boundary to them up there before they even arrive is detrimental to say the least.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
