8 Biggest Problems Facing NXT Right Now

5. Too Many Big Fish In A Small Pond

In the last 18 months or so, NXT has become the place to be in professional wrestling. Whereas once those who had made their name on the independent scene weren't likely to create blips on the WWE radar, now those who make their name elsewhere are almost inevitably on their way to Full Sail.

What this has led to is a quite wonderful problem, although that is still a problem. NXT has a truly impressive roster, the likes of which anyone who had ever played a booking simulator could only have dreamt of. Just take a look at some of these names; Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bayley, Hideo Itami, Austin Aries, Asuka, Johnny Gargano and more. It's wildly impressive.

To this point, NXT has only one hour of weekly programming. Now, a number of NXT standouts will eventually make their way up to the main roster, but this is no longer the desirable prospect it once was. NXT creative is now faced with the unenviable task of fitting all of these fantastic talents into just an hour of TV, and doing them all justice in the process.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
