8 Blade-Jobs That Would Cost Superstars Their Job In Today's WWE

3. The Rock vs Mankind - I Quit Match For WWE Championship - Royal Rumble 1999

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSWuCLC_Z8U There's a few matches in WWE history that fit under the title of "infamous", and this is certainly one of them. This match caused Mick to hold a grudge for a few years against The Rock, borderline traumatize his family, and take what should have been a classic and turn it into a match that most fans don't like to watch. Before all that, Mankind & The Rock were truly having a feud that made everyone involved. The last few minutes of Survivor Series 1998 cemented The Rock as the top heel in pro-wrestling, Mankind as the 2nd biggest babyface, and Vince McMahon as the greatest heel of all time. All the key players were at the top of their game, and created one of the all-time great feuds in the WWE, culminating with Mankind's first WWE title win on January 4th, 1999. At the 1999 Royal Rumble, both The Rock & Mankind wanted to go out and deliver a classic. They did, but for the wrong reasons. 2/3rds into the match, Mankind was slapped into hand-cuffs and rendered defenseless, per The Rock's plan. He proceeded to bash Mick in the hand with over 10 unprotected chair shots that ended up with the direct results of Mick literally pouring blood & needing a bucket to catch it, and sending his family, while in tears, screaming to the back. Seriously, it's stomach churning. Mkind33gy They would go on to have much better matches, but none nearly as well known, or nearly as graphic. If this were to happen today, I think Vince would be so mad someone working at an entirely different company that had nothing to do with the WWE would get fired.

Caliber Winfield is more legend. Despite making up every rumor himself, they're all true. He's so manly he has to shave his eyeballs, and he was mistaken for The Rock as well as Ryan Gosling in the same day, both men said it was the greatest day of their life when they heard the news.
