5. Making Eddie Edwards Run The Gauntlet

By this point, we're well on the road to Slammiversary, which presumably goes down on either Saturday, 17 July or Sunday, 18 July. Here, Omega defends against Eddie Edwards. It needs that marquee stage to hit the right spot.

For Eddie to reach Omega, though, he must agree to Kenny's terms in that he has to go through a series of matches against the members and associates of the Super Elite. If he loses one, he's out of the title match.

This starts off easy enough for him, seeing off challenges from both Brandon Cutler and MT Nakazawa in their respective IMPACT debuts. There's no harm in these being under two minute squashes either.

A handicap win over The Good Brothers and subsequent banger of a tag match vs. the Young Bucks alongside Rich Swann (the only one of these bouts that occurs on Dynamite) sets him up nicely for 'The Best Bout Machine' at Slammiversary.

Not so. Omega must reveal one last trick up his sleeve that has to be an absolute beast. Someone like W. Morrissey, who fulfilled the hired gun role alongside Violent By Design to perfection, would be best suited here. Eddie wins obviously, but only just. He needs to be carefully picked apart ahead of the marquee title bout in order to create as much hype for this as possible.
