8 Booking Steps For Kenny Omega As IMPACT World Champion

6. At Least One AEW Dynamite Defence

Kenny Omega IMPACT champion
IMPACT Wrestling

Going back to Under Siege for just a moment; Omega's first title defence will come against the winner of a six-way bout held on that same show.

So far, Chris Bey, Matt Cardona, and Sami Callihan have already qualified, with Trey Miguel vs. Rohit Raju, Rhino vs. Chris Sabin, and Moose vs. James Storm making up the remaining qualifiers for next Thursday's IMPACT.

Sami's the likely winner here, following his beatdown courtesy of the Super Elite that led to him qualifying via disqualification.. When does he get his shot? On an AEW Dynamite episode.

While it makes sense to build that match up a bit and holding it on the 12 June Against All Odds special, giving Omega and Callihan a spot on Dynamite will get a greater deal of fans invested in the product. Simply by having Sami interrupt a Dynamite segment by laying out MT Nakazawa with a baseball bat is enough reason for this to be on the Wednesday evening broadcast.

Either way, Omega must make at least one defence of the IMPACT World Championship on AEW's weekly show against a contracted IMPACT performer. If we're meant to take this forbidden door schtick seriously, there needs to be more promotion of it from AEW's side.
