8 Booking Steps For The Undertaker's WWE Return

2. The Match Is Set

The Undertaker John Cena WrestleMania 33

This is where the endgame starts becoming clear. Each man has a bone to pick with one another, but Taker’s time is running out. He’s played a relatively limited role so far, and fans will be over the shock of his return by now. It’s time to pay it off, and this starts by eliminating one man.

Cena and Styles will maintain their bad blood throughout February, with The Undertaker’s spectre always looming. With the World Championship out of the picture, facing The Deadman becomes their primary focus, and a big match is booked for Fastlane in March: John Cena vs. AJ Styles, with the winner facing The Undertaker in his final match at WrestleMania 33.

Your winner? John Cena.

Taker deserves to go out in the biggest way possible, and for all Styles’ talents, nobody is bigger than John Cena. He and AJ will put on a tremendous wrestling match reminiscent of their clash at SummerSlam ‘16, but Cena won’t have a single moment to celebrate. As the referee raises his hand, the lights will die, and they’ll come back on with The Undertaker standing in the ring.

“John Cena: at WrestleMania, you will rest… in… peace.”

Cue Taker’s eyes rolling back, and Fastlane reaching a dramatic conclusion.
