8 Booking Steps To Save The WWE Cruiserweight Title

2. Build Around Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander was in line for a Cruiserweight Title shot at the Royal Rumble before Enzo Amore was released this week. Unless WWE plan to put Alexander in a one-off match against somebody else on the Rumble pre-show, it looks like he'll have to wait for his chance. That could end up being a positive.

Cedric was likely going to be cannon fodder for Amore anyway, so he doesn't lose anything by playing the waiting game. It's time WWE took the shackles off someone who is obviously one of their most talented cruisers and let him show his skills and natural charisma properly. And no, we're not talking about putting him back with Alicia Fox.

That was the kind of goofy storyline the cruiserweights must avoid in the future. Alexander has all the tools to be a success, especially if WWE turn him heel and let him show the same kind of attitude shift Neville did in the same role.

Alexander hasn't had a fair shake as of yet. Time to change that.
