8 Brutally Short WWE Title Reigns That Don't Sit Well With Fans
3. Daniel Bryan's WWE Championship Reign - 4 Minutes
After putting on a fantastic match at SummerSlam 2013, Daniel Bryan was crowned WWE Champion for the first time. John Cena rarely lost clean in the middle of the ring, and it felt like big things were in store for Bryan.
Minutes later, Randy Orton's theme music hit, and 'the Viper' made his way down to the ring, his Money in the Bank briefcase in hand. Special Guest referee Triple H blasted Bryan with a Pedigree, leaving Orton free to pick up the scraps and to claim the title for himself. Daniel Bryan's first run as WWE Champion lasted less than five minutes.
As the crowd's chosen one, many felt the sting of seeing Bryan's hard work come undone so quickly. He has never been seen as anything special to Vince McMahon, no matter how much he means to the WWE Universe, and even with the backing of John Cena. Bryan might have pinned the face of the company, but all management did in the end was feed him to the No.2 man on the roster. That being said, Bryan did win the title back soon after. Surely his second run as WWE Champion would have some longevity to it, right?
