8 Burning Questions For WWE Backlash 2016

5. Will Women’s Match Shine Or Embarrass?

WWE has made a concerted effort to put more focus and more of a spotlight on the women’s division on both programs. That has meant more camera time for the women, which also means there has been more of an opportunity for things to go awry.

Splitting a small women’s division means that there are fewer places to hide wrestlers who either aren’t up to par or are still green. Case in point, the women’s six-pack elimination match for the new SmackDown Women’s Championship. Natalya and Nikki Bella are the only women who have held gold before, and Becky Lynch is the probably the odds-on favorite to win Sunday’s bout.

But you also have Alexa Bliss and Carmella still adjusting to the main roster and an athletic but not-quite-clicking Naomi in the match. That’s not to say that all of these women can’t and won’t deliver at Backlash; this match could yet be pretty good.

But it could just as easily be a trainwreck, with six wrestlers tripping over each other and the match having no real flow. Obviously, everyone wants this match to succeed and draw in fans, but a bad match could have the opposite effect.
