8 Burning Questions For WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

3. Will WWE Sacrifice Asuka’s Undefeated Streak?

This might be one of the scariest prospects of the Elimination Chamber PPV.

For two-and-a-half years, Asuka has been undefeated in NXT and WWE. She held the NXT Women’s Championship for 500-plus days without ever losing it. She won the first women’s Royal Rumble match. She’s about the most built-up star in WWE in the past decade.

And she puts her undefeated streak on the line against Nia Jax, who WWE clearly has plans for as a dominant monster in the women’s division. If Jax wins, she gets inserted into the Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania.

That alone raise the question of whether WWE would be crazy enough to end Asuka’s undefeated streak at a B-PPV to give Nia a rub. It might sound insane, but it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility. Perhaps Vince McMahon decides that they need to get the streak “out of the way” and get on with “telling stories.” Or maybe they just really want Jax in the Mania match.

Regardless, this one will be interesting to see how it plays out.
