8 Candidates To Induct Randy Savage Into WWE Hall Of Fame
7. "Mean" Gene Okerlund
One of the biggest reasons Randy Savage would go on to become the legend that he did were his promos. They allowed his unique personality and speaking quirks to shine brightly, helping to make him must-watch before he even stepped foot in the ring. For years in the WWF, and then more time in WCW, when you think of Randy Savage promos, you think of "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewing him. Okerlund was right there next to Savage for most of his best promos during a career spanning multiple decades. Getting Okerlund would come easy for the company. He's already a Hall Of Fame member, and is often around for the ceremonies, anyway, hobnobbing with the celebrities and fellow Hall Of Famers in town every year. He might not be the "flashy" choice to do the inducting, but he makes sense. As someone who got to witness Randy's rise to superstardom first-hand, from a midcard worker to the WWF Champion to his time with WCW, both in and out of the nWo, there aren't many people more qualified to speak on the topic than "Mean" Gene.
