8 Candidates To Induct Randy Savage Into WWE Hall Of Fame

6. Diamond Dallas Page

When you think about Savage's time in WCW, only a few different things immediately jump out at you. That's not a negative statement on him. It's more of how WCW featured him. As a face, he was always in Hulk Hogan's shadow (surprise, surprise), and as a heel, he was almost always the third or fourth most important member of the nWo, at best. One thing you do remember, however, is his feud with Diamond Dallas Page. The feud was DDP's first time in a big-time, top-tier grudge, and he showed how hungry he was. Both men shined, and the early days of "worked shoots" and trying to break kayfabe were strong here, as we got the revelation that DDP and his valet, Kimberly, were married in real life. Their matches were heated, physical and very good. Page's ring work was solid, but it wasn't known if he could handle stepping up into a spotlight role, but he did, and Savage being the prototypical "ring general" was the key. One could say that DDP owes his entire career to Randy Savage, since this feud is what helped fans and WCW management to see Page as a top guy, and he would then go on to win the WCW World Title three times. One great way for DDP to "thank" Savage would be to induct him into the Hall Of Fame. As what amounts to a motivational speaker these days, there's no doubt Page could deliver a very entertaining, heartfelt speech.
