8 Contenders To Replace Mick Foley As WWE RAW General Manager

7. Kurt Angle

WWE fans were overjoyed when Kurt Angle was announced as the headline inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame for 2017, and from that moment on those same fans have been clamouring for The Olympic Hero to return to a WWE ring. More realistic (or maybe that should be pessimistic?) fans don't expect Angle to be an active WWE competitor any time soon however, so how about putting the Olympic Gold-Medallist in a position of authority instead?

Angle has General Manager experience too, after a short-lived run as SmackDown GM way back in 2004. Angle was at his dastardly heel best at the time but would be expected to provide a much more balanced leadership style in 2017, and his focus on competition over the politics of WWE and shenanigans of the McMahon family would serve as a welcome freshening up of the RAW landscape.

Many would prefer Angle to surface on SmackDown Live! in order to begin what most assume will be a beautiful partnership with American Alpha, but WWE have a tendency to move away from the obvious in favour of other options. Could we see Angle wearing a suit, making matches and giving rousing speeches on Monday nights through the summer?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
