Another beloved former WWE Champion who made it into the Hall of Fame, Edge has proven to be a wildly popular figure whenever he has graced WWE TV in the years following his retirement. The Rated-R Superstar's emotional retirement left many fans in tears as they lamented the departure of one of their heroes, the record-breaking tag team champion proving to be yet another miserable example of talent taken away from the fans whilst still in their prime.

There are a number of issues that could stand in the way of Edge making a full-time return to WWE TV as the General Manager of RAW however. The first of these centres on the man himself, a man who already has obligations to the WWE Network and also has a new family and various other media commitments. if Edge doesn't need to return, would he even want to?

The second obstacle is purely in-canon. During the pinnacle of his career Edge became synonymous with the upper echelons of SmackDown, acting as the top heel on the blue brand for a long while whilst associated with then-General Manager Vickie Guerrero. Would the sight of Edge on the red brand be too jarring for some WWE fans? It is an entirely cosmetic complaint, but a pertinent one nonetheless.

Obstacles aside, Edge would be a hugely popular choice as the next RAW General Manager.
