8 Controversial WWE Finishes That Actually Worked

6. That's Not Sting!

Okay, the guy in the picture is Sting, but the guy that Sid Vicious pinned for the World Title at the end of the same match definitely wasn't. Sting and Sid brawled backstage at around the ten minute mark of their match, with 'Sting' chasing him back to the ring a short time later. Only it was a slightly flabbier, slightly taller Sting. It was actually Barry Windham, trying to pull a fast one for the Four Horseman. 'Sting' went for a weak scoop slam, Sid fell on top and was crowned the new World Champion. The fans were left with hands on their heads and mouths open. Moments later, after the fireworks had went off and the balloons had dropped, the real Sting re-entered the arena, with a rope tied around his wrist. Justifiably p***ed off, Sting decked Sid with the belt, gave him the stinger splash and cradled him to reclaim his title. The initial confusion, with Sting seemingly losing his title in such a weak, rushed manner was great and one of the few Dusty finishes that really worked.
