8 Controversial WWE Finishes That Actually Worked

5. The Original Twin Magic

We've been seeing the old 'twin magic' routine for years now, first with the Basham Brothers and now with the Bellas. It's a good gimmick and usually provokes a reaction, but it's hard to deny that it's getting a little tired. When it's used sparingly, it's very effective, but seeing it week in, week out on WWE TV completely dilutes it. Probably the most effective use of the old 'twin switch' trick occurred at Survivor Series 2000 at the finish of Kurt Angle and The Undertaker's WWF Championship match. It wasn't a great match, since Undertaker wasn't at 100% health-wise and Angle was still in his rookie year in the business, but at least the finish got people talking. After receiving a right pasting, our desperate Olympic hero sought the sanctuary of under the ring. Undertaker dragged him back out, naturally, and delivered a spine-jarring Last Ride. It was now a formality, and Earl Hebner counted the one, two, thre - oh wait, no he didn't. Realising that the man the Undertaker just powerbombed wasn't Kurt Angle, Hebner stopped in his tracks to inform the Dead Man, giving Kurt enough time to sneak in and roll him up for the duke. The man 'Taker was pinning was, in fact, Kurt's look-alike brother Eric. It didn't make Angle look like a badass or anything, but it was a damn fine finish.
