8 Cross-Promotion Wrestling Dream Matches We Will Never See

7. Tetsuya Naito Vs Adam Cole

Jon Moxley Vs Roman Reigns Vs Seth Rollins Shield Triple Threat
NJPW/WWE

It's tough to fathom Tetsuya Naito's popularity in NJPW, as the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon is an absolute fan favourite thanks to his charisma, "Tranquilo" energy and explosive move-set.

He might not be as big a star in WWE as Naito is in NJPW, but Adam Cole hits a lot of similar notes, as he created one of the company's most popular factions in the Undisputed Era, has a similar style of reserved charisma and knocks out some great matches.

Seeing the pair go toe-to-toe in a singles encounter would be a sight to behold, as they've both got excellent ring awareness and have a solid connection to their audiences, which would make the crowd hotter than the Sahara Desert. They have even faced off in a four-way match-up before (alongside Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jay Lethal), so they have some experience together, if indirect.

Sadly, as discussed in the previous entry, it's improbable that WWE and NJPW will start doing crossovers anytime soon. Vince McMahon is notorious for not acknowledging exterior companies and would never want to send some of his brighter stars there. So, while he's not hit the main roster yet, you'd imagine WWE would want to keep Cole close to their chest.
