8 Disastrous WWE Debut Matches

On the same show that Edge was forced to retire due to neck issues, Sin Cara wrestled in his first televised WWE match. He'd debuted on the previous week's show, seeing off Sheamus after the Irishman had battered Daniel Bryan.

Since Cara had skipped developmental (boy did that turn out to be a mistake), WWE had his debut match be against Primo, a guy of similar size who could work with Cara's lucha style. Things were off from the get-go, as Cara made a mess of his trampoline-assisted entrance, something he'd do for about thirty percent of his WWE career.

The early wrestling exchanges were smooth enough, with Cara executing a lovely backflip off of Primo's shoulders and a slingshort hurricanrana to the outside. A springboard 'rana from the second rope inside the ring was also jaw-dropping and smoothly executed.

Unfortunately, they made a hash of the ending, as Primo slipped with both men standing on the top rope, causing Cara to take an unplanned bump to the floor below. Unsure of what to do, Cara just rolled back in the ring and attempted the spot - a top rope Spanish Fly/moonsault slam - again.

He nailed it the second time but the first botch along with the dodgy entrance caused some to question whether Cara's style, honed in Mexico, would be able to successfully cross over to WWE. It was certainly far from the botchiest performance of the original Sin Cara's WWE career, but it wasn't the cleanest of debuts and had some in high places thinking twice about his big push.
